A while ago in my business class we learned about this girl who's made over a million dollars because of her Myspace Layout Website, I think it was called www.whateverlife.com. I know HTML/CSS and I'm pretty advanced in Photoshop. I can make my own graphics and layouts easily. Do you think I should take a shot at making my own Myspace Layout website? I was thinking of starting it on a Myspace page but then putting a link from there to my actual website so that would be a way of advertising in itself. Do you have any tips or ideas about this? I need honest opinions because I'm completely willing to put 100% effort into this project if it could pay out in the end. Realistically what would make my website stand out from all the others out there?I actually do have an advantage, knowledge-wise. A lot of layout sites I see use backgrounds off a Xanga, whereas I can make my own graphics, animated graphics, and backgrounds. I am fluent in HTML/CSS quite well and have wrote a perfectly functioning Myspace Layout base that I can keep editing to fit my needs. It works on all browsers too.And I'm willing to invest in web-hosting and a domain from Godaddy.com

i think it's a great idea. i used to use whateverlife.com ALL THE TIME until i found better sites. if your willing to put much effort into the site i'm sure it'll come out a wonderful success. the whole idea of you making it a myspace page with the link the the actually websites with graphics and layouts is the best way to go i would think. if you do end up going through with it, i would just say to look around at other sites first and yknow make different graphics because i look around for graphics all the time and i end up seeing the same ones over and over again.be original:)and good luck with it all!

Not likely. There are hundreds of teens who go to free-hosting sites or even just use a Myspace profile to host their layouts, and oftentimes, the bandwidth of the layouts are exceeded and they don't load properly for those who use them, or they are coded very poorly, because the kids who make them host them on a VERY limited amount of memory, rather than purchasing their own hosting space and domain.Do you know the entire css table structure for the Myspace profile?http://myspace.com/drhooveyAre you fluent in all forms of html, like using float, p style, and all the other attributes out there? If not, I would not attempt it. That girl got her foot in the door right away and managed to storm the Google ratings early, when Myspace began, so she was able to go higher and higher because she was one of the first. Now, there's so many layout sites, it's impossible to compete, especially if you are just another one of those teens that think they know css, when they truly don't.I hope I don't sound too condescending, because I'm not trying to be.
